چکیده

We investigate the influence of electron-phonon interactions on the DCconductance Γ of a quantum wire in the limit of one occupied subband. At zero temperature, a Tomonaga-Luttinger-like renormalization of Γ to a value slightly larger than 2e2/h is calculated for a realistic quantum wire model. Conductance in quantum wires by three quantum dots arrays

A noninteracting quantum-dot arrays side coupled to a quantum wire is studied. Transport through the quantum wire is investigated by using a noninteracting Anderson tunneling Hamiltonian. The conductance at zero temperature develops an oscillating band with resonances and antiresonances due to constructive and destructive interference in the ballistic channel, respectively. Moreover, we have fo...

Bias-Induced Optical Absorption of Current Carrying Two-Orbital Quantum Dot with Strong Electron-Phonon Interaction (Polaron Regime)

The one photon absorption (OPA) cross section of a current carrying two-orbital quantum dot (QD) with strong electron-phonon interaction (polaron regime) is considered. Using the self-consistent non-equilibrium Hartree-Fock (HF) approximation, we determine the dependence of OPA cross section on the applied bias voltage, the strength of effective electron-electron interaction, and level spacing ...

Electron transport and phonons in atomic wires

A scanning tunnelling microscope (STM) at low temperatures is used to fabricate and measure the electronic transport properties of atomic wires up to 7 atoms in length. We observe that the conductance of these wires, which at zero bias voltage is 2e=h, as corresponds to ballistic electron transport through a single conductance quantum channel, drops sharply at a well-defined voltage due to the ...

Electron-phonon scattering in quantum wires exposed to a normal magnetic field

A theory for the relaxation rates of a test electron and electron temperature in quantum wires due to deformation, piezoelectric acoustical and polar optical phonon scattering is presented. We represent intraand inter-subband relaxation rates as an average of rate kernels weighted by electron wave functions across a wire. We exploit these expressions to calculate phonon emission power for elect...
